.1. What are the qualifications for applying to your program?
Answer: Girls must be in middle or high school and have a willingness to take part in a mentoring program.
2. What is the cost for your program?
Answer: At the present time we only ask parents to donate to support 3 of our outside activities which run from 10 to 25 dollars. Most of the activities are free of charge.
3.How often do you meet?
Answer: We meet every other Saturday. Our regular meeting time is 10 am to 12:30 pm. The time may differ if we are participating in outside activities.
4. Do you offer transportation?
Answer: We offer transportation for girls who live within 10 miles of our building. We do not provide transportation for family members.
5. When do you take applications?
Answer: We take applications throughout the year, but we interview prospective mentees quarterly, in January, April, July, and October. We will contact you at the end of the quarter in which you apply to come in for an interview. If there is no response we will remove your application from our active data base.
6. To what extent are parents allowed to be involved?
Answer: We welcome parental involvement, in fact parents are required to attend at least 3 of our 4 parent meetings and take part in other standard JUGs activities.
7. How many girls are in the program?
Answer: We have a maximum of 25 girls in our program at any one time. Ideally we would like for the girls to stay in the program through high school graduation.
